Congratulations to PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy on capturing his 24th PGA Tour victory at the Genesis Scottish Open. McIlroy, the 54-hole leader, rallied from one-stroke behind in a wild, windy final round with clutch birdies on the final two holes, including a tournament-clinching 11-footer on the 72nd hole. He closed with a 2-under 68 at the Renaissance Club for a four-round total of 15-under 265 to claim his first win on European soil since the 2016 Irish Open and $1.6 million in first place prize money.
McIlroy heads into the season’s final major at The Open Championship with his second win of the season while sitting third in the Official World Golf Ranking and first in European Ryder Cup ranking points. The 2014 Open Championship winner gained 2.64 strokes on the field with his putter (which features SuperStroke’s Zenergy Pistol Tour putter grip) in the final round of the Genesis Scottish Open.
“Rory McIIroy’s game, including his putting with the SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol Tour grip, is a wonder to watch. SuperStroke congratulates Rory on capturing his 24th career victory and the momentum he’s taking into the season’s final major,” says SuperStroke CEO Dean Dingman. “Rory’s level of play at this point in his career brings excitement week in and week out and we couldn’t be prouder that he trusts SuperStroke’s Zenergy Pistol Tour putter grip in golf’s most meaningful events.”
Three of the top-six finishers in the field at the Genesis Scottish Open were using SuperStroke putter grips.
The SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol series is a modern take on a beloved classic. These putter grips merge a pistol-style top section that helps golfers lock in their upper hand position with “No Taper Technology” to help golfers maintain even grip pressure and boost the consistency of their stroke. Zenergy Pistol grips come in seven colors and three sizes.
