Sahith Theegala Earns Two-Stroke Victory at the Fortinet Championship

Congratulations to 25-year-old PGA TOUR player Sahith Theegala on claiming his first-career victory at the Fortinet Championship. Playing in his second full season on the PGA Tour, the California native fired rounds of 68-64-67-68 and gained more than nine strokes on the field with his putting to outrace the field by two shots. The win, in Theegala’s 74th event on the PGA Tour, earned him $1.512 million in first-place prize money and put him inside the top 35 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The win was Theegala’s first official career victory, accompanying his (unofficial) 2022 QBE Shootout win with playing partner Tom Hoge. He was second in the field at the Fortinet in Strokes Gained: Putting with 9.173 strokes gained on the greens and was also atop the field in Birdies Made with 24, with help from his SuperStroke Flatso 1.0 putter grip.

“Congratulations to Sahith Theegala, truly one of the most exciting young players on the PGA Tour, on his first-career victory at the Fortinet Championship,” says SuperStroke CEO Dean Dingman. “He was in command of his game and putted remarkably well all week. He was brilliant with his SuperStroke Flatso 1.0 putter grip. This is just the beginning of an exciting and successful career for Sahith.”
