The 24-year-old Collin Morikawa marched his way into the history books with an impressive win at The Open Championship at Royal St. George’s Golf Club. His 265 total was just one shot shy of the 72-hole tournament scoring record and was good enough for a two-shot victory. With his win Morikawa became the first player to win two different majors on their first attempt and joined Gene Sarazen, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and SuperStroke ambassador Jordan Spieth as the only players in the last 100 years with multiple major wins before age 25. He relied on the Traxion Tour 1.0 to drain clutch putt after clutch putt as he posted a bogey-free final round of 4-under-par 66. The Los Angeles native will now turn his sights to Tokyo as he prepares to represent Team USA at this year’s games.

SuperStroke was well represented across the leaderboard with ambassador Jordan Spieth posting a tournament total of 267 to finish as runner up, just two shots behind Morikawa. This continues an impressive run of form which has seen Spieth record seven top-5 finishes this season, including a win the Valero Texas Open in April. Seven of the top fifteen finishers had SuperStroke in their bag, reaffirming the brand’s status as the No. 1 Putter Grip in Golf.
