This past weekend Rory McIlroy won the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup using a SuperStroke Traxion Pistol GT putter grip. This victory makes history as McIlroy is the only golfer to win the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup three times. The victory also gives SuperStroke a sweep of the 2022 FedEx Cup playoffs and 3 FedEx Cups in a row.

This year, McIlroy’s final score was -21, surpassing runners up Sung-jae Im and Scottie Scheffler by one stroke. This means McIlroy, currently ranked number 4 in the world, was able to overtake Scheffler, ranked number 1 in the world. Additionally, six of the Top 10 finishers also chose to play with SuperStroke grips.

“It’s always exciting to see a historic win in golf, and our hats are off to Rory McIlroy for achieving something that’s never been done before,” expressed Dean Dingman, CEO of SuperStroke. “It’s a source of pride to know that SuperStroke was able to play a small part in this victory, and to know that so many of the world’s greatest players counted on SuperStroke in this moment as well.”

McIlroy has had a standout year. He is now tied with Dustin Johnson for winning the most FedEx Cup Playoff wins, which is six. McIlroy’s most recent victory brings his total number of wins on tour to twenty-two, which puts him in the 22nd spot for the rankings of all-time PGA Tour wins. This year he also won the RBC Canadian Open and CJ Cup.

McIlroy uses SuperStroke’s Pistol GT putter grip. It’s a putter grip that works for several putting grip styles, including McIlroy’s conventional putting grip style. SuperStroke took the classic pistol-style grip, popular with golfers for decades, and put a new spin on it with advanced Traxion technology.

This means that as players lock in their upper hand position through the grip’s No Taper technology, they also can easily find proper hand placement through Advanced Spyne Technology. Overall, each aspect of the grip allows for even grip pressure and consistency in the stroke.

Professional golfers on tour choose SuperStroke putter grips time and time again. Not only does SuperStroke make putter grips for every putting grip style there is, but they are engineered with advanced technology to deliver consistency, powerful performance and an exceptional feel. SuperStroke is the grip of choice for Jordan Spieth, Patrick Cantlay and Sung-jae Im. It’s also the putter grip recommended by world-renowned putting expert Phil Kenyon.
